2011 Steel prices are on the rise!
Steel prices bottomed in the later part of 2010 and have been slowly on the rise ever since. Commodity prices in general are seeing drastic price hikes. Staples likes corn, cotton sugar, gold, silver and oil have all seen prices soar. Copper and aluminum prices have more than doubled in the last 12-24 months. As the economy recovers and commodity and raw material price increases hit manufacturers, many economists think steel prices could soar from current levels (follow steel prices and current steel price trends to better plan your investments in a storage system).
While many opinions differ on the timing and scope of when steel and rack prices will rise, the overall consensus strongly suggests the direction will be up not down from current levels.
