We Are PENCO...

The year was 1869.
On Oregon Avenue in South Philadelphia, a legend was born. It
was the dream of a man named L. Lewis Sagendorph. He believed
that he could make the finest metal products in America. He began
by making steel culvert pipe, and he called his fledgling business
the Penn Metal Corporation of Pennsylvania.
Over
the years, Penn Metal's product lines broadened to include lockers,
shelving and even aircraft landing mats. A reputation for quality
fabrication spreads to a nationwide market. In the mid-fifties
the name was shortened to Penco Products and the plant and offices
were expanded to a modern facility built on thirty two acres in
Montgomery County, Pennsylvania. Virtually all of the experienced
workers commuted to the new plant maintaining the tradition of
quality products.
Today,
as a subsidiary of Vesper Corporation, Penco continues to grow.
In 1990, a second manufacturing facility
was opened in Vicksburg, Mississippi, and in 1994 the third manufacturing
plant came online near Salt Lake City, Utah. Throughout a nationwide
network of distributors and sales representatives, a complete
line of storage products that includes lockers, industrial shelving,
modular drawers, pallet racks, modular storage decks, safety grating,
shop furniture
and more is offered. Penco's mission is to carry the legend into
the future, with the finest lockers and storage products
available anywhere.
