It’s time for another Q&A, where we show you the many faces of our Shelving Inc. team. As a small, family-owned company, every single member is integral to our success.
Today’s feature: Stacy Bibby.
Stacy grew up in a few different locations, but mainly outside of Chicago and Royal Oak. She went to Oakland Community College and received a degree in liberal arts.
Before starting at Shelving Inc. last July, Stacy worked at AAA for 39 years. After retiring, she desired to continue working in some capacity. Her good friend Sandy, one of our sales representatives, let her know that we needed additional assistance - and the position was a perfect fit.
She has been integral in managing various clerical jobs for us. This includes Fedex tracking, making files, sending shipping information to customers, and calling vendors for updates on ship dates.
Stacy’s favorite part of this position? She not only loves the variety of work but appreciates that we are a small, family-owned company - as she’s able to get to know her coworkers, she feels like she is a part of the family.
In terms of her career, Stacy is most proud of the hard work and tenacity she has displayed. Starting at the bottom in her previous position, she worked her way up to MI Underwriting Supervisor.
Rapid Fire
- Movies she can watch over and over without getting sick of: The Bourne film series or Bad Boys.
- Most memorable vacation: In 2009, Stacy and her husband took their boys to Hawaii, after previously visiting there for their honeymoon. The highlights included watching the sunrise at Haleakalā National Park, parasailing, and snorkeling.
- If she could live anywhere, she’d live: On the ocean in the East Coast.
- Best purchase she’s ever made: Her house because of the memories that have been made there.
- In the evening, would she rather play a game, visit a relative, watch a movie, or read: After a workday, she’d watch a movie or read. On the weekends, she would rather visit a relative.
Stacy has two adult boys, Kyle and Kevin, as well as one granddaughter. She also has a Beagle named Gracie, a rescue she adopted almost 6 years ago.
As a family, they enjoy group vacations out east, camping, barbequing, and just spending time with one another.
Outside of work, Stacy loves to play in her flower beds, read murder mysteries, and more recently, cook. Her daughter-in-law is great in the kitchen and has helped her become more creative and adventurous when it comes to trying new recipes.
As far as future aspirations go, she hopes to travel more - namely visiting various national parks.
That’s all for now! Stay tuned for the next Q&A in the coming weeks.
