Wire Shelf Liners

Collection: Wire Shelf Liners

Wire Shelf Liners for a Smooth, Solid Shelf Surface

Wire shelf liners, sometimes called shelf mats, lay over the gaps in wire shelves to create a flat, stable surface, so small or unevenly shaped items don't tip, wobble, or fall through the wires. This collection includes colored plastic, clear acrylic, translucent, and poly liners from Chadko, hardwood shelf inserts, and liners for enclosures.

Liners come in depths from 8" to 36" and widths up to 72", sold individually or in 2-packs and 4-packs. Chadko liners are moisture resistant, made in the USA, and cut to order to fit your shelf size.

Comparing Wire Shelf Liner Materials

Choose a liner material based on how it needs to look, how often it will be cleaned, and what you are storing.

Liner Material and Thickness Colors Pack Sizes Best For
Plastic Liners 1/8" PVC 11 colors, including black, white, grays, blues, red, yellow, green, orange, and beige 2-pack Durable, hard plastic, chemical-resistant, color-coded storage that wipes clean with glass cleaner
Acrylic Liners 1/16" rigid acrylic Clear 2-pack Keeping stored contents visible on a solid shelf surface
Translucent Liners .635 mm polypropylene Translucent Single or 2-pack A subtle look that can be cut to different sizes or shapes

Hardwood Shelf Inserts 11/16" solid hardwood with oil finish Natural wood grain Single A butcher-block surface for food prep, or a solid desk or work top

Plastic liners have rounded corners that fit around posts so they lay flush. Acrylic and translucent liners have angled corners. Hardwood inserts come in 14", 18", and 24" depths with beveled edges, and each piece has its own natural variations in color and grain.

Wire Shelf Liner FAQs

Answers to common questions about sizing, ordering, and caring for wire shelf liners.

What can I put on wire shelving to make it solid?

A wire shelf liner creates a solid, flat surface over the wires. Choose hard plastic liners for durability and color-coding, clear acrylic or translucent liners to keep contents visible, poly liners for a lightweight option, or hardwood shelf inserts for a solid work surface.

How do I choose the right liner size?

Match the liner to your shelf's listed depth and width. Each product page includes exact liner dimensions in the Product Details section, so measure your shelves and compare before ordering.

Can wire shelf liners be returned?

Chadko plastic, acrylic, translucent, and poly liners cannot be returned, since they are cut to order and final sale. Confirm your shelf size and liner dimensions before you order.

Will liners fit if my shelves have dividers or ledges?

Liners must be custom cut to fit around accessories used on wire shelves. Note what you need in the order comments box at checkout, or contact our team before ordering.

Do liners fit around the shelving posts?

Yes. Plastic liners have rounded corners that position around posts so the liner lays flush, and acrylic and translucent liners have angled corners.

How do I clean wire shelf liners?

All liners lift off the shelf easily for cleaning. Clean plastic liners with glass cleaner, and acrylic, translucent, and poly liners with a damp cloth. For hardwood inserts, dust with a dry microfiber cloth, and if needed, wipe with a damp cloth and a small amount of mild wood cleaner, then dry right away.

How long do wire shelf liners take to ship?

Translucent liners and hardwood shelf inserts ship the next business day, and most other Chadko liners ship in 2–3 business days. Check the product page for the shipping time of each liner.
