Corner Wire Shelving

Collection: Corner Wire Shelving

Corner Wire Shelving Units That Turn Unused Corners into Storage

Corner wire shelving, also called metal corner shelving, fits into the corners that standard rectangular units leave empty, adding storage without taking floor space from the rest of the room. This collection includes triangle, radius, and pentagon corner units, each a freestanding unit sized to fit into a corner.

Shelving Inc. heavy-duty, chrome-plated steel corner units come in 18" and 24" depths with 3 to 5 shelves, heights up to 96", and shelves that adjust in 1" increments. Every unit holds up to 800 lbs per shelf, evenly distributed, is NSF certified, assembles without tools, and ships the next business day, with free local pickup at our Madison Heights, MI warehouse.

Comparing Triangle, Radius, and Pentagon Corner Wire Shelving

The three corner shapes differ most in footprint, post count, and the shape of the front edge.

Corner Unit Shape and Size Capacity Best For
Triangle Flat-front triangle on 3 posts; 18"d (24.875" across the front) or 24"d (33.125" across) Up to 800 lbs per shelf Storage that fits tightly into a single corner, including closets and small rooms
Radius Same footprint as triangle on 3 posts, with a rounded front edge Up to 800 lbs per shelf Corners near walkways or displays, where a rounded front edge is preferred
Pentagon Five-sided shelf on 5 posts with two 36" sides along the walls, two 18" sides, and a 27" front; 50.5" at its widest point and 38" from the corner to the front. The 18" sides accept 18"d add-on units. Up to 800 lbs per shelf Corners with room for a wider unit, with 3 shelves at 34"h or 4 shelves at 54" to 96"h

Capacities are for evenly distributed loads. All three shapes are freestanding units. For a specialty setup that wraps storage around a corner in an L shape, see the Mobile Corner Storage System, which combines pentagon corner shelves with 18"d x 36"w shelves on locking casters.

Choosing a Corner Shape

Triangle and Radius Units vs. Pentagon Corner Units

All three shapes are freestanding units that fit into a corner. Triangle and radius units stand on three posts and come in 18" and 24" depths. Pentagon units stand on five posts and are larger, measuring 50.5" at their widest point and 38" from the corner to the front edge.

Choose a Triangle or Radius Unit When:

  • The corner is tight, such as in a closet, office, or small storeroom
  • You want a choice of 18" or 24" depth
  • You want 3, 4, or 5 shelves
  • You prefer a flat front (triangle) or a rounded front (radius)

Choose a Pentagon Unit When:

  • Your corner has room for a unit 50.5" wide at its widest point and 38" deep from the corner
  • You want a five-sided shelf supported by five posts
  • An 18" depth works for what you are storing
  • You want 3 shelves at 34"h or 4 shelves at 54" to 96"h
  • You may extend storage along the walls later, since the 18" sides accept 18"d add-on wire shelving units

How to Choose the Right Corner Wire Shelving Size

Corner units are sized differently than standard rectangular shelving, so check these details before adding one to your cart.

Check these before you order:

  • Footprint: 18"d triangle and radius units measure 24.875" across the front, and 24"d units measure 33.125". Pentagon units measure 50.5" at their widest point. See the Wire Shelving Size Guide for details.
  • Height: Units range from 34" to 96" tall. Leveling feet add 1" to the total height.
  • Shelf count: Choose 3, 4, or 5 shelves, and add extra corner shelves later if needed.
  • Load: Every corner shelf holds up to 800 lbs, evenly distributed, regardless of shape or depth.
  • Environment: Chrome corner units are for indoor, dry storage. For coolers, freezers, or wet areas, see walk-in cooler wire shelving.
  • Shape: Choose triangle or radius for tighter corners, or pentagon if the corner has room for a unit 50.5" wide at its widest point.

Chrome Corner Shelving Is for Dry, Indoor Storage

Triangle, radius, and pentagon corner units have a chrome-plated finish rated for indoor, dry storage only. They are not intended for walk-in coolers, freezers, or other cold, humid, or wet areas.

For those spaces, shop our walk-in cooler wire shelving, which offers finishes made for cold and humid storage.

Corner Wire Shelving FAQs

Answers to common questions about sizing, assembling, and expanding corner wire shelving.

Can I add extra shelves to a corner wire shelving unit?

Yes, as long as there is room on the posts. Extra triangle corner shelves, radius corner shelves, and pentagon corner shelves are sold separately with shelf clips. Match the shelf depth to your unit.

Can corner shelving wrap around a corner in an L shape?

Triangle, radius, and pentagon units are freestanding and fill the corner itself, and the 18" sides of a pentagon unit can accept 18"d add-on wire shelving units. For a ready-made L-shaped layout, the Mobile Corner Storage System combines four pentagon corner shelves and ten 18"d x 36"w shelves on 72"h posts with 3" locking casters. Shelving Inc. parts are generally not compatible with other brands of wire shelving.

Do I need tools to assemble corner wire shelving?

No. Shelves attach to the posts with plastic shelf clips (split sleeves), and a rubber mallet helps set shelves securely and release them when you reconfigure. Posts 64" tall and taller ship in two pieces that twist together. Instructions are on our assembly guides page.

Is corner wire shelving NSF certified?

Yes. Every triangle, radius, and pentagon corner unit in this collection is NSF certified. They are still rated for indoor, dry storage only, so they are not intended for coolers, freezers, or wet areas.

Why do my chrome corner shelves have slight color differences?

Chrome wire shelving is produced in batches, so slight variations in tone, including subtle yellow or blue hues, can occur between items, especially across different sizes. These differences are normal and do not affect performance or durability.
