Which Clip Shelving Parts Do You Need?
Start with what you are trying to do. Each part below is sold on its own.
Add or Replace Shelves and Steel Shelving Clips
Steel box shelves in 22-, 20-, and 18-gauge, sold individually or in 5-packs with clips included, plus 36"-deep 18-gauge shelves for deeper storage. Metal shelf clips are also sold singly or in 20-packs. Each shelf needs 4 clips.
Shelf Uprights and Frame Parts
84"h T-post uprights (2-pack) and upright assemblies that include the parts for one side of an 84"h unit: two T-posts plus an end cross brace (open) or a side panel (closed).
Brace Open Shelving
End cross braces reinforce each side, and lateral cross braces reinforce the back. Both are 12-gauge steel, include hardware, and keep open units from swaying.
Replace or Finish Closed Shelving Panels
84"h back panels in 24-gauge steel add lateral support and close the back. Base strips cover the opening under the bottom shelf to keep dirt and debris out.
Organize Small Parts
3"-high bin fronts attach to the shelf's front flange to keep items from sliding off. Label holders take 7/8"-high labels (not included) so stock is easy to find.
Anchor and Join Units
A metal foot plate, upright-to-floor angle, and 3/8" x 3" concrete wedge anchor work together to secure uprights to a concrete floor. Back-to-back ties join two units into an even double row.
How to Match Parts to Your Existing Clip Shelving
Most ordering mistakes come from a size mismatch. Before you order, check these details on your current unit.
Check before you order:
- Width (36" or 48"): Sets the size of shelves, back panels, lateral cross braces, base strips, bin fronts, and label holders.
- Depth (12", 18", or 24"): Sets the size of shelves, upright assemblies, and end cross braces.
- Height: Uprights, upright assemblies, and back panels in this collection are 84" tall.
- Open or closed: Open units use cross braces. Closed units use side panels, back panels, and base strips.
- Shelf gauge: Choose 22-, 20-, or 18-gauge based on the load, not just to match existing shelves.
- Quantity: Plan 4 clips per shelf. Many parts come in 5-, 6-, 10-, 20-, or 25-packs.
Parts Are Designed for Lyon 8000 Series Shelving
These parts fit Lyon 8000 Series T-post uprights, which have 1-1/16" slots and adjust shelves on 1-1/2" centers. They are not intended for other brands or for boltless shelving. Lyon closed steel shelving with modular drawers is built with welded end uprights, so check with our team before ordering parts for those units.

Do replacement shelves come with shelf clips?
Yes. Steel box shelves include the clips needed to install them. Extra metal shelf clips are also sold individually or in 20-packs if you need spares.
How many shelf clips does each shelf need?
Each shelf needs 4 clips, one at each T-post. The 12-gauge galvanized clips lock onto either side of the post and adjust on 1-1/2" centers.
What's included in an upright assembly?
Each upright assembly includes the parts for one side of an 84"h unit. Open assemblies include two 16-gauge T-posts, a 12-gauge end cross brace, and installation hardware. Closed assemblies include two 16-gauge T-posts and a 24-gauge spot-welded side panel.
Which parts do I need to anchor shelving to the floor?
Anchoring uses three separately sold parts: a metal foot plate under the T-post, an upright-to-floor angle that ties the post to the anchor, and a 3/8" x 3" concrete wedge anchor. Follow the assembly guide for your unit when installing.
Do label holders include labels?
No. Label holders fit 7/8"-high labels, which are sold separately. Each holder secures with 3 push-in fasteners.
Will these clips and parts fit Republic or older Lyon shelving?
These parts are designed for Lyon 8000 Series steel clip shelving and may not fit other brands or older Lyon systems. If you are matching parts to Republic or older Lyon shelving, contact our team before ordering.
Can I order parts in bulk for a larger project?
Many parts come in multi-packs, including 5-packs of shelves and back panels, 6-packs of upright assemblies and end cross braces, and 10-packs of lateral cross braces, base strips, and bin fronts. For larger orders or a full parts list, request a quote.
