Collection: Climbing & Fall Protection
Everything a lineman wears to stay on the pole, and everything that stops a fall becoming an injury. The body belt is the foundation: a wide, supportive back pad carrying D-rings for a positioning strap and the weight of a full tool belt, in Buckingham's adjustable short-back pattern or Jelco's four D-ring traditional belt. A full-body harness takes over where fall arrest rather than work positioning is the requirement. Positioning and fall restraint units - the BuckSqueeze, EZ Squeeze and SuperSqueeze - wrap the pole and let a climber move up and down while staying attached, which is the difference between a controlled descent and a slide. Stretch lanyards absorb the shock of a short fall and stay out of the way the rest of the time, and a triple-action carabiner will not open by accident. Climber accessories matter more than their price suggests: a footplate takes the strain off an ankle over a long day, and gaff guards protect both the points and whoever is carrying them. Controlled descent devices cover the other end of the job, lowering a worker or a load at a governed rate. Inspect everything that bears weight before every use.
