Our Story in Three Chapters
The Shelving.com Story
Every Day Starts the Same Way.
Somebody needs the right storage solution. Since 1960, helping them has been our family's business. Here's how it looks from the inside, told in three short videos.
Chapter 01 · Bobby's Day
It starts with a simple goal.
In 1960, Shelving Inc. was founded in Michigan with a humble mission: help others find the best storage solution for their space.
More than six decades later, the mission hasn't changed, and neither has the family behind it. We still operate with the same commitment to our customers, listening to their needs and providing proven solutions. Sometimes it's a single wire shelving unit. Sometimes it's a warehouse full of pallet racking. The size of the job changes, but the way we show up doesn't.
What full service includes
- Layout design and product recommendations for your space
- Experienced in-house and nationwide assembly and installation crews
- Onsite project management and supervision
- After-the-sale support: rack relocation, repair, and safety inspections
Chapter 02 · Ready When You Are
When you need it, we're ready.
Anyone who has waited on a delivery knows the feeling: an empty space, a growing pile of clutter, and a clock that won't slow down. So we built our business around being ready. Across two Michigan facilities and more than 52,000 square feet, we keep wire shelving, boltless shelving, and pallet racking on hand, so the answer to "how soon?" can be "next business day."
How we protect your schedule
- Pre-assembly before delivery, so installs go faster and disrupt less
- Free local pickup on stocked products
- Rack relocation that moves whole assemblies, with no teardown
- Rack repair that replaces only the damaged section, with no unloading
Chapter 03 · We'll Walk You Through It
We'd rather walk the floor with you.
Not sure where to start? That's a perfectly normal place to be. Storage problems usually show up as clutter, an inefficient layout, or a wall of options. So our team starts with a tape measure, a clipboard, and a conversation: we measure, we design, and we deliver a plan. And when it's easier to call, email, or chat, a real person is on the other end. No call centers or scripts.
What you can count on
- A free quote and layout design for your space
- A real person by phone, email, or live chat
- Recommendations from proven brands like Unirak, Metro, Lyon, Hallowell, and Nexel
- Hard-to-find sizes and exclusive accessories that make storage more productive
A few things we're proud of.
More than six decades in, the story is still about the people and the place behind it.
Meet Bobby & Rax.
The two characters who keep turning up in our videos. Think of them as the friendly face of how our team shows up every day.
Bobby Beam
Always on his wayHeadset on, boots on, and rarely seen without a smile. Bobby takes the call, hits the road, and shows up on site, a lot like the real people on our team.
Rax
Ride-along & box organizerRides shotgun with his ears flapping and organizes boxes with his nose. Rax is as committed to a tidy space as anyone here.
