Powered Crimpers & Cutters

Powered crimpers and cutters do the work that hand tools stop being able to do somewhere around the size of a service conductor. Battery and hydraulic cutters shear ACSR, aluminium and copper cable to a clean face without crushing or fraying the conductor, in gear-driven, latch-head and scissor-action forms, with capacities running from small wire up to overhead transmission conductor. Crimpers apply a calibrated compression to connectors and lugs — 6, 12 and 15 ton utility tools, dieless designs that size themselves to the connector, and die-based tools that take the interchangeable dies held elsewhere in the range. Knockout tools punch clean holes in panel and enclosure steel from 1/2" to 4" without a hole saw. Press tools and pipe shears extend the same principle to plumbing and plastic pipe. What these have in common is a controlled, repeatable force: the tool completes its cycle or it does not, which is what makes a crimp inspectable rather than a matter of how hard someone squeezed. Match the tool to the conductor and connector system in use, and confirm the die or jaw is the right one before the first crimp.
