All of these shelves are NSF listed, but they are not all meant for the same spot in the kitchen. Start with where the shelf will hang.
Wet or dry areas. Aluminum carries a lifetime guarantee against rust and corrosion. Solid shelves suit general storage, and T-bar shelves have 1-3/4" gaps that let water drain and air circulate. These are a common choice above sinks, dish areas, and prep stations.
Dry areas only. Open chrome wire keeps items visible and lets air move through, with up to 200 lbs per shelf. It is a good fit for dry goods, packaging, and smallwares in prep areas and dry storage rooms, away from moisture.
Wet or dry areas. Our black epoxy racks have an antimicrobial, rust- and corrosion-resistant finish and a 15-year limited warranty, so they hold up behind bars and in service areas.
Dry areas only. Chrome wire cradles hold bottles on their sides for storage rooms, dining areas, and back-of-house wine storage that stays dry.
New Age Industrial aluminum wall shelves come in five styles. Capacity depends on both the style and the width. Wider shelves hold less weight, and capacities assume the load is spread evenly.
| Shelf Style | Depth and Width | Capacity | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard Solid (18 gauge) | 12"d x 24"–60"w | 200 lbs (24"w) to 100 lbs (60"w) | Lighter supplies, containers, and smallwares |
| Heavy Duty Solid (12 gauge) | 12", 15", or 18"d x 24"–60"w | 300 lbs (24"–36"w) to 150 lbs (60"w) | Heavier stock and deeper items over prep areas |
| T-Bar | 20" or 24"d x 36"–60"w | 700 lbs (36"w) to 500 lbs (60"w) | Heavy pots, equipment, and items that need to drain or air dry |
| T-Bar with Hanger and Hooks | 20"d x 36"–60"w | 700 lbs (36"w) to 500 lbs (60"w) | Cook lines and prep stations, with 6 to 8 hooks under the shelf for utensils and pans |
| Inverted | 20"d x 36"–60"w | 500 lbs | Spots where the mounting rail needs to sit above the shelf, such as over a sink |
Solid aluminum shelves can also be mounted upside down so the brackets act as side barriers. Mounting hardware is not included with aluminum wall shelves.
Shelving Inc. wall-mounted wire shelving comes in two styles. Both are chrome, hold up to 200 lbs per shelf, and are for indoor, dry storage. The difference is whether the shelf is fixed in place or hangs from posts so its height can change.
Chrome wall-mounted shelving is a single wire shelf on fixed 7"-tall brackets, available from 8" to 24" deep and up to 72" wide. The shelf sits about 1" off the wall. It is a simple way to add one level of storage above a prep table, sink area, or workstation.
Adjustable units hang shelves from wall-mounted posts, so each shelf can be moved in 1" increments as your storage needs change. They come with 1 to 4 shelves:
Adjustable units sit about 3" off the wall. Because the shelves ride on posts, you can start with one shelf and add more later. Add-on kits and individual shelves, brackets, and posts are available in wall-mounted wire shelving.
Wall mounted wine racks keep bottles cradled on their sides and off the floor. They come in two finishes:
Posted capacities assume the shelf is installed correctly and the load is spread evenly. Follow the assembly guide for your shelving when mounting it.

Answers to common questions about choosing and installing NSF wall shelving.
NSF certification means the shelving has been tested to meet NSF/ANSI sanitation standards for food service equipment, including materials and design that can be cleaned effectively. It is often expected in commercial kitchens and other inspected areas. Our NSF Certified Shelving Guide explains it in more detail.
Mounting hardware is not included with aluminum wall shelves. For wire shelving and wine racks, check what's included on each product page. Hooks shown with some wire shelving are sold separately.
Fixed chrome wall-mounted shelves sit about 1" off the wall, and adjustable wire units and chrome wine racks sit about 3" off the wall. On both, the bracket extends about 1" past the front of the shelf. Add these to the shelf depth when checking clearance over prep tables and walkways.
Yes. Adjustable wire units can be expanded with add-on kits or individual shelves, brackets, and posts, all found in wall-mounted wire shelving. Aluminum shelves are individual units, so you can add more at any height.
No. The chrome wall-mounted wire shelving and chrome wine racks here are for dry storage only. For walk-ins, dish areas, and other damp spots, choose aluminum wall shelves or black epoxy wine racks.
The wine racks in this collection work well for bottle storage. For lighted bottle displays and other front-of-house options, see restaurant wall shelves.
