Industrial and Workplace Steel Lockers for Employees, Schools, and Gyms

Lockers give employees, students, and members a secure place to keep clothing, bags, uniforms, and personal items. This collection includes Lyon steel lockers in single, double, and multi-tier box styles, along with Hallowell kids lockers, Cubix modular lockers, locker locks, and hardwood locker room benches.

Lyon steel lockers are made in the USA with 16-gauge steel doors and frames, 24-gauge steel bodies, and a scratch-resistant powder coat in gray or tan. They come in 12" to 21" depths, 12" to 18" widths, and 54", 66", or 78" heights, as single lockers or 3-wide units, assembled or unassembled.

Storage per Person or More Users?

Full-Height Lockers vs. Multi-Tier Box Lockers

Every Lyon locker frame takes up the same footprint. The tier count decides whether that space goes to one person with room for full-length clothing or to several people with smaller compartments.

Choose Single or Double Tier Lockers When:

  • Users need to hang uniforms, coats, or work clothes
  • Each person stores bags, boots, or bulky gear
  • You want a shelf and hooks in each compartment
  • You have enough floor space for one or two users per frame

Choose 3- to 6-Tier Box Lockers When:

  • You need to serve as many users as possible in limited space
  • People store smaller items like phones and books
  • Lockers are used for a shift, class, or workout rather than all day
  • You want three to six lockable compartments per frame

Double tier lockers are a middle ground: two 36"h compartments in a 78"h frame, each with room to hang clothing.

Steel Locker Tiers, Heights, and Compartment Sizes

Overall heights include 6"h legs. Use the compartment height to check that the items your users store will fit.

Locker Style Overall Height Compartments per Frame Best For
Single Tier 66"h or 78"h One, with a 60" or 72" opening Uniforms, coats, and full-length clothing
Double Tier 66"h or 78"h Two (36"h each on 78"h units) Bags and clothing for twice the users
3-Tier 78"h Three, 24"h each Gym bags, jackets, and work gear
4-Tier 54"h or 78"h Four, 12"h or 18"h each Bags, shoes, and personal items
5-Tier 66"h Five, 12"h each Books, electronics, and small bags
6-Tier 78"h Six, 12"h each The most users per frame in high-traffic areas

Single, double, and 3-tier lockers have a recessed lift handle with a hasp and a multi-point latch. Box lockers with 4 to 6 tiers have a pull handle with a hasp for a padlock. Browse all sizes in metal lockers.

What's in This Collection

Types of Lockers and Locker Room Products

Beyond Lyon steel lockers, the collection covers lockers for young children, modular cubbies, locks, and seating.

Lyon Steel Lockers

Single tier through 6-tier lockers in gray or tan, with louvered doors for ventilation, pre-punched number plate holes, and a choice of single or 3-wide units.

Kids and Home Team Lockers

Hallowell steel lockers in bright colors for childcare centers, preschools, and youth programs, with an upper shelf and hooks. Home Team lockers come in two-tone team colors, and mini lockers stand 24" tall.

Cubix Modular Lockers

Compact 12" steel cubes with solid, ventilated, or Safety-View Plus doors. Pre-punched sides let you connect units into custom layouts, and keyhole slots on the back allow wall mounting.

Locker Locks

Zephyr combination padlocks, keyed dead bolt locks, and built-in combination locks with supervisory key control for managing many lockers.

Locker Room Benches

Lyon hardwood bench tops on gray or tan steel, aluminum, or stainless steel pedestals, rated for 150 lbs per linear foot. Benches run 36" to 120" long, and tops and pedestals are also sold separately.

Locks and Number Plates Are Sold Separately

Lyon steel lockers include a hasp for a padlock but do not include a lock or number plates. Add a combination padlock or built-in lock to your order, and confirm that a built-in lock matches your locker's tier count and hinge side before ordering.

Hallowell kids and Home Team lockers should be securely anchored before use to prevent tipping.

How to Choose the Right Workplace Lockers

Most locker orders come down to a few decisions about users, space, and security.

Check these before you order:

  • Number of users: Count how many people need a locker, then pick the tier count that fits your floor space.
  • What gets stored: Hanging uniforms need single or double tier; bags and personal items fit box lockers.
  • Depth and width: 12" to 21" deep and 12" to 18" wide. Deeper and wider lockers hold bulkier gear.
  • Height: Overall heights of 54", 66", and 78" include 6"h legs. Check ceilings, soffits, and outlets.
  • Units and assembly: Single or 3-wide, assembled or unassembled, based on lead time and labor.
  • Locking: Choose padlocks or built-in locks, and plan how you will manage combinations and keys.

Locker FAQs

Answers to common questions about locker assembly, locks, numbering, custom options, and installation.

Should I order lockers assembled or unassembled?

Lyon lockers are offered both ways. Unassembled lockers ship in 2 to 3 business days, and assembled lockers ship in about 2 weeks. Assembled lockers save setup time, while unassembled lockers arrive sooner.

What kind of lock do I need for a locker?

The Zephyr combination padlock fits lockers with a padlock eye of 5/16" or larger. Built-in locks are made for specific locker types: the lifting dead bolt lock fits single and double tier lockers hinged on the right, and the dead bolt lock fits 5- and 6-tier box lockers hinged on the right. Kids lockers can be ordered with a lock option already selected.

Can lockers be numbered?

Yes. Lyon steel lockers are pre-punched to accept number plates, which are sold separately.

Can I get lockers in a different size, color, or configuration?

Yes. If you do not see the size, color, or setup you need, call 800-637-9508 and our team will help you find a custom locker solution.

Does Shelving.com install lockers?

Yes. We install jobs nationwide and offer free site visits and consultations, so our team can help plan and install locker rooms of any size.
